Authentic flavors and people

We were born in 1983, when Lignano was different but the hunger was the same.

We aren’t Michelin-starred chefs; we’re the ones who know that a good sandwich can save your day.

Since then, we’ve never turned off the lights.

And that stylized
guy
in our
logo?

The club sandwich is our signature item, and we wanted to include a reference to it in our logo: it’s the stylized figure of the 18th-century British politician Lord Sandwich (John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich).

During golf matches and card games, John Montagu would have sandwiches served so he could eat while continuing to play. That’s how the sandwich was born.

Since 1983, we’ve brought that same philosophy to Lignano: hunger shouldn’t stop the fun.

We took the Lord’s intuition and loaded it with crunch, staying open 365 days a year (so, in case you didn’t get it, every single day).

It all starts
in 1983

Il Panino opened in 1983 in Lignano and was an immediate success.

Fabrizio Moretto, the current owner, was lucky enough to work there for 12 years, first as an employee and then as a trusted collaborator.

Together with his wife Fulvia, he has developed several entrepreneurial projects in the food world and beyond since 2004, successfully opening various formats and chains.

In 2020, Fabrizio returned to Il Panino to take over management together with Fulvia and his brother-in-law Maurizio: the choice to return to his roots drives him with great enthusiasm toward this new adventure, this time in a new role as the owner.

A constant commitment to sourcing quality ingredients, a keen eye for sustainability, great attention to customer needs, and the
well-being of our staff are at the heart of what Il Panino offers, making it a landmark among Lignano’s local spots.

Only selected ingredients.

We select the best every day: if it’s not excellent, it doesn’t enter our kitchen.

Always on point.

In addition to the classics from 1983, you’ll find new dishes every season so you never get bored.

Beyond just bread.

We have alternative dishes and gluten-free options for those with intolerances (unfortunately, no guaranteed dishes for celiacs).
